The
current conditions now are "Heavy Snow Freezing Fog". As if freezing fog wasn't confusing enough? So how do I distinguish the freezing fog from the heavy snow?
Or maybe the heavy snow *is* the freezing fog. Either way I'll be sure to grab a handful.
Is the picture at the top of the blog Mt. Vernon?
ReplyDeletei don't think i've ever heard of freezing fog???? have fun in all of that snow!! we were in the storm hole this time. only a dusting. oh well maybe next time!
ReplyDeleteI think you're using the wrong punctuation. Instead of "Heavy Snow/Freezing Fog" I think the forecasters are trying to describe "Heavy, Snow-Freezing Fog" or in other words a fog that makes you sweat under its weight and then freezes your perspiration into snow flakes. As I recall, Bill Murray gets trapped in Punxsutawney by this kind of weather in Groundhog Day.
ReplyDeleteAmanda - Yes. Back of the Mt Vernon house that faces the Potomac river.
ReplyDeleteRyan - thanks for the clarification. Are you suggesting then that we might have 6 more weeks of winter?
